I completed an integrated MEng and BEng in Medical Engineering at the University of Leeds.

What attracted you to the Centre for Doctoral Training in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine – Innovation in Medical and Biological Engineering.

I was very interested in the type of research being conducted there.

Briefly explain what your research is about and what you hope to find?

My research involves the biomechanical evaluation of early interventions for knee osteoarthritis. The aim is to explore how these interventions can restore function and slow down the progression of knee osteoarthritis.

How did you hope the CDT integrated PhD would give you an advantage over a conventional PhD?

I think the integrated PhD offers me the opportunity to develop new skills and give me a more diverse approach to my PhD project.

What benefits do you feel you get from the interdisciplinary nature of the course?

Research is often collaborative and I think this course is a good preparation for a career in research and academia

What have you found most challenging about the CDT course?

Learning new material that I do not have a background in.
